Laura is passionate about serving the nonprofit community in Northeast Ohio. She believes the strength of our nonprofit organizations symbolizes the strength of our community and the integrity of its residents. Laura spent seven years in nonprofit development and six years in for-profit marketing. Her not-for-profit and for-profit experience enables her to bring you best practices from both types of markets.
As an experienced development director, Laura is skilled at creating integrated fund development and marketing plans to help organizations reach and exceed their goals. While at the Humane Society of Summit County, Laura executed a capital campaign to purchase the building, while developing programs that raised 95% of the yearly operating budget through annual fund giving, special events and generous contributions from individual donors. In her first year, she increased the Humane Society’s social media followers by more than 500% and grant revenue by 450%.
In her time at COLTENE, an international medical device manufacturer, Laura was the marketing manager for three North American product lines, comprised of several thousand products. She launched products, created marketing campaigns for her product lines and actively managed vendor relationships and product evaluations.
Laura has been fortunate to serve as a board member for many community organizations, learning the fundamentals of board leadership, strategic planning and organizational advancement.
